Providing suitable entertainment for all the residents is quite a challenge. What one person likes, another does not. We try really hard to accommodate everyone’s wishes. If you have something in mind, just let us know.

Please find below examples of some of the fun things that take place at Fairlawn (the newer postings are towards the bottom of the page):

(Above and Below) A fine activities afternoon at Fairlawn Residential Home. Our residents are making marmalade with the assistance of our previous activities coordinator Linda.

We are getting our residents into practice in readiness for their new positions as the home’s cooks!

(Below) Our Easter Party, held on 12th April 2014 , with music from Jasmine and our Easter Bonnet competition judged by Maidstone’s Mayor Clive English. A fun afternoon was had by all.

(Below) Lots of fun this morning at activities with our residents and Janis, our previous activities co-ordinator.

10/07/2015 (Below) Karaoke this afternoon at Fairlawn with Janis and any members of staff who were passing by at the time! Not sure who had more fun, our residents or our staff!

In August 2015 we held our Summer Party. Everyone had a great time and it was lovely to see so many visitors at the home as it made for a really fun afternoon.

Our Summer Parties are always based on a specific theme so this year we opted for a Wild West/Country and Western motif and it was great to see everyone getting into the spirit. Special thanks to Annie Love, who provided us with excellent music on the day.

Below are a selection of photos, we hope you enjoy them.

(Below) The Christmas Party 2015. It was nice to see so many visitors to the home and a good time was had by all. Thanks to everyone who came and a special thanks to Bob (below) for cooking the food. Our gratitude also goes to Annie Love for providing the music.

(Below) Our Easter Party was held on 19th March 2016. A special thanks to the mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Moriarty, for attending and judging our Easter Basket competition.

Thanks to Bob and Jackie for working so hard on the buffet and for Peter Kneebone for entertaining us on the day.

(Below) 17/08/2016: The annual Summer Party was held, this time with an Alice in Wonderland theme. It was nice to see so many of our residents’ families in attendance once again and we hope everybody had a nice afternoon. The weather was changeable but Bob soldiered on with the barbeque (thanks Bob!) and the gazeboes didn’t blow away!

Thanks again to Annie Love for her music and for taking song requests from the visitors, which was really good of her and made for a nice variety of styles throughout the afternoon.

27/10/2016: We are very happy to welcome our new activities coordinator Paula to the team and she likes to involve the home’s residents in Arts and Crafts whenever possible. Below are some photos of the various projects enjoyed by everyone.

10/11/2016: We were very happy to welcome Anna Golden back to the home to perform a Remembrance Show. It’s always a highlight of our entertainment calendar and everyone enjoyed the show.

April 2017: Easter Party: We were pleased to host our annual Easter Party on Saturday 8th April 2017. Thank you to everyone who attended, along with Annie for providing the music, Paula for creating the decorations and Wayne and Bob for organising the buffet. The weather was nice and it was great to see our residents and their families enjoying themselves.

Please find below some photos of Paula creating the Easter Bonnets with our residents, followed by some photos from the party itself.

29/09/2017 – Macmillan Coffee Morning. We were please to participate in the annual Big Coffee Morning in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. We had music provided by Tony Taylor, doing his best Elvis Presley and we managed to raise a reasonable amount for this very worthy charity.

Below is a photo of our activities organiser Paula and her array of cakes that she worked tirelessly to create, with a little help from our resident Mavis. We are very grateful for both of their efforts.
